Wonderful magical, healing and utterly life changing week. Each week has a different theme. Learning and developing the ancient shamanic practice of overtone chanting, vocal purification practices, transformative breathing, vocal yogas, sonorous meditations, sacred chants, mantras and sonic practices to transform family curses into their corresponding blessings and heal the ancestral lines. Also, journeying through the MANDALA OF GREEN TARA, we experience the union of the sacred masculine and feminine, bliss and emptiness. Beautiful continuous chant and practice.

Working to discover love and ourselves and to magically transform afflictive or difficult relationships or difficult aspects of otherwise loving relationships. We will do this ceremonially, working with one of the most powerful of all deities, the Great Goddess Tara, the quick acting Mother of all the Buddhas, powerful and able to bring enlightenment in this lifetime. Traditionally equally loved and revered by men and women, many, including almost all Tibetan Buddhists, from the most sophisticated to the simplest, including the Dalai Lama, maintain their deep connection with this feminine manifestation of the divine, who acts swiftly and confers compassion, enlightened action, liberation, emotional and physical healing and long life. Through working with the extraordinary energies of Tara we are able to ease the blockages to achievements in work, in life and in emotional and physical health , bring about order and flow in our lives, to liberate us from afflictive emotions making us depressed, unhappy and frustrated, leading us to ecstasy, joy and freedom and work towards achieving the essential state of reality and become enlightened.

The April-May 2010 retreat is held over the festival of Beltane or May Day, a festival of fecundity when the forces of heaven penetrate the earth (represented in traditional England by the Maypole). We will celebrate and harness these forces using sound as the bridge between the worlds to connect to the source of power through the instrument of our own voice and purify the body, the elements and past karma. In Tibetan Buddhism, the ultimate liberation is to transform the elements of the body into the essence of their substance - the rainbow colours and ultimately achieve the rainbow body.

Wonderful and magical and utterly life changing

Jill only does two week-long retreats a year so its good to book early - each is devoted to a different spiritual and psychological theme and is wonderfully magical and utterly life changing. During the weekend we will learn and practice overtone chanting, vocal purification practices, transformative breathing practices, sacred chants, mantras, dream -work, a practice to become conscious of and transform family curses into their corresponding blessings and heal the ancestral lines.

In addition we will be working with, and becoming the mandala. or structure of consciousness of the supreme alchemical balance of male and female- the union of these two is the ultimate spiritual path, sought after in different ways within all traditions. This ceremony, is on a related theme but very different to last October 2009, the practice for enlightenment of conscious living and dying. This retreat is for anyone seeking liberation now and the development of consciousness. We will be using chant to liberate us from the afflictive emotions which maintain us ego bound, depressed, unhappy and frustrated, and lead us into a state of joy and freedom from the entrapping games of the mind. As part of this, we will learn and practise the highly sophisticated vocal yogas that the Tibetans have for making the ultimate transition, enabling us to direct our consciousness at the moment of death. It is a very different aspect of the work and an important development of the teachings, from both the week last year, and from the retreat in the Spring. (Equally good for those continuing the work or starting for the first time.) We will learn practices of conscious dying (both in reality and to the ego in everyday life) and how to recognize and direct the processes we go through beneficially, The aim is not only for ourselves, but also to know how to help others to become enlightened in this moment, or to recognize and act appropriately in the successive moments in the immediate aftermath after death- the period known as the Bardo. All this is essential housework for mortals. While this practice is also an essential roadmap for leaving this world it is mainly a guide to living in it, in a state of illumination.

The work involves continuous chant of different kinds and practice throughout.

THE MANDALA of Conscious Birthing and Dying 2010
All Jill’s mandala ceremonies combine and contain continuous chant, spiritual practice with joyful deep and transformative psychological work. The aim of the October 2010 ceremony, held over the Festival of the Dead (All Saints - the Blessed Dead- and All Souls) is to recognize our emotional patterns as played out in life which will condition the nature of our departure from it and understand and learn the practice of conscious living and dying, an essential practice and fundamental core of Tibetan Buddhism. We will work with the direct introduction to the Bardo states and the nature and play of mind associated with them. Since we signed up for death by being born, understanding its process and how to remain conscious and to recognize the mind at play when the body separates from it. While essential for all of us for when we make that transition - this is principally teachings and vocal practice for enlightenment in this life.

People come from all over the world and inexpensive accommodation is available very close-by. On registering we can send you a list.
